“The Bolivarian alliance” as one of strategic allies of the Muslims

Опубликовано: 03.04.2014

The idea to construct the bridge between the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean was in the air long ago. It is connected with the fact that the only waterway of this kind is in Panama. But this country depends on America so much that it doesn’t have its own currency; the American dollar takes its place for several decades.

One of the appropriate places to realize this grand project is Nicaragua. Indeed this country is washed by two oceans on the one hand and on the other hand there is the largest lake the Central America inside the country. Therefore it is easier to construct the new inter ocean channel. But the most important thing is that the Nicaraguan authorities aren’t pro-American ones. Thus it’s quite natural that the president of Nicaragua has involved Brazil, China and Russia to the project. Washington has taken it as a direct threat to its interests, since the new sea channel will make Washington to lose the monopoly it has now controlling the Panama Canal.

Since the USA doesn’t have any levers of pressure in Nicaragua the only option for the White House is to encircle the country with hostile regimes. In J. Bush- the junior times less attention was paid to southern neighbors because the main vector of American aggression was directed to the Big Middle East. “The Bolivarian alliance” has got much benefit from it, as the only decent contestant of the USA on its southern frontiers. Besides Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua Bolivia and Ecuador have joined the alliance as well. The alliance positions have been fundamentally strengthened in Guatemala in El Salvador and even in traditionally pro-American Honduras. We should mention the changes of strategic courses in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay i.e. in majority of the South American countries.

It seemed as if the hegemony of the USA in this region would come to end very soon. But the new line in foreign policy consisted in vector displacement to Pacific region. This line started the realization under Obama presidency and allowed the White House to launch several big counterattacks.

So the military coup happened in Honduras in 2009. Consequently the political vector of the country once changed by the ex-president was directed to Washington again. In 2011 pro-American forces came to power in Guatemala as well, as a matter of fact without military participation.

The new spiral of counterattacks aimed to strengthen the USA influence in this region took place in the other countries of Central America. In the beginning of February 2014 the elections were held in two nearest to Nicaragua countries– Salvador and Costa Rica. As for Salvador the candidate of Front of national liberation named after Farabundo Marti took a premier place in the presidential racing. However his contender supported by the White House, collected only 10% of votes less and the ally of “bolivarians” would be in tough position in the c second round coming in the beginning of March. Since Salvadorians are connected with the USA economically.

The White House succeeded in strengthening control in Costa Rica because the candidates convenient for Washington had won the second round. The candidate allied to “bolivarians” left the lane all of a sudden. He took the third place only. Thereupon the important aspect is that it’s Costa Rica located closely to the place of future sea channel in Nicaragua. Besides there is a dispute between these two countries concerning the state borders. These all cause concern regarding the future relationship between two countries.

It should be mentioned that besides Costa Rica, Honduras and Panama Washington controls Surinam and the great hope of the White House- Columbia. It’s exactly the country having the bigger potential than all other “pro-American protectorates”. The agreement to establish seven military bases of the USA was make with this country. And this country borders on Venezuela which is the biggest threat for the USA.

Venezuela differs from the other states of the region on various aspects and the main are the huge oil resources and powerful military potential. These all have impact to anti-American course the country follows for a long time. That is why Venezuela didn’t stand aside from attacks Washington continued in the region. First, as if it was planned a priori, one of the main leaders of “bolivarians” Hugo Chavez died after suspicious disease. Then, the new president N. Maduro faces the big domestic problems. It’s not easy to keep power in the country after charismatic leader at all. But it’s particularly difficult if the country is destabilized internally and externally.

The proof is the new aggravation of situation in Venezuela. And domestic factor can play quite destructive role here. We can recall that in 2002 the putshists were able to overthrow Chavez temporarily. In fact that revolt has been terminated but it shows how strong the positions of American forces are. In addition these “fifth columns” are strengthened by Columbian commandos, trained on special bases in Miami and having war experience in their motherland.

In addition, Venezuela was economically attacked. The domestic banking circles, the Columbian smugglers, saboteurs of different kinds – these all with the support of mass media make the people to panic. It is a remarkable fact (in view of the events in Ukraine) that one of the main anti-government youth groupings in Venezuela is called “People’s will” and oppositional internet activists show “their solidarity with Kiev allies”. This situation reminds the one happened in Iran when there was the attempt of “coloured” revolution, called “the green” revolution. Will Venezuela be able to resist the strong pressure of its North neighbor as the Iranians did it in 2009? The future of Venezuela and the whole “Bolivarian alliance” depend on it.

Probably someone will ask the question: ”Is it important for us the concerns of distant Venezuelans, Nicaraguans or Salvadorians?” It is indeed! From the geopolitical point of view the processes happening even in the remote regions may affect us directly. Particularly in the modern world which is embroiled by mutual relations. It is the activity of the countries of “the Bolivarian alliance” that has made the Americans to draw off their forces from the Big Middle East. Military withdrawal from Iraq and planned draw off from Afghanistan is the result of “the Bolivarians” activity. We shouldn’t forget that Hugo Chavez always supported Iraqis and Palestinians and other fighters against occupants as much as he could. These all indicate that our allies from “the Bolivarian alliance” are the integral and important part of common resistance to American empire.
